Hello families! Today Change is Simple visited us again. We learned about just how little of the Earth's water is actually available for us to use. That includes cleaning and drinking. Ask your child what they learned today and what they did in class.
Tomorrow we'll be starting our third and FINAL anchor text in reading. We're reading Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. The students did some excellent research last week in order to increase their background knowledge on some topics they'll encounter in Esperanza's story. Each group "taught" the rest of us about their topic. On April 15th the students will be reciting their own poetry in our next Coffee Shop. We'll spend the next few weeks perfecting (?) our pieces. Finally, we hope to see you on Thursday, April 7th at 6:00 for our 5th Grade Open House and Friendship presentation. Mrs. McDonough and Mrs. Lally have been working hard to get the students ready to present. We'll have several projects on display for you to check out that night as well. Here are our upcoming PARCC testing dates: ELA-4/28 and 4/29 Math 5/2 and 5/3 Science MCAS-5/19 and 5/20
