Parents and Guardians,
Due to the fact that our standards in fifth grade have changed, we will not be able to squeeze in our Invention Convention. At Curriculum Night we discussed the new science standards that need to be taught this year. They include matter, the solar system and ecosystems and our study of the vernal pool. However, we would strongly encourage your children to participate in our school-wide science fair. The deadline for entering has been extended to this Friday, October 23rd. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us or Jane Beasley and Sue McLane who are running the science fair.

This is a reminder that we'll be going to the book fair on Tuesday 10/13 from 1:00-1:30. You can send in money with your child or join us in the Cove library to help your child find some great books to purchase.
Today I inspired the students with some fabulous examples of mystery puzzle projects that my students created last year. They were also given directions and a sheet to fill out. Please check in that your child is reading a mystery that has been okayed by me. The final project is due Wednesday, November 4th.
